Behind the Lens

Hi, I'm so glad you stopped by! My name is Nicole Coons and I'm a wife, mother, and photographer based out of Rochester, NY.

I fell in love with the art of photography by happenstance when I was thrust into the world of the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) after the birth of my daughter, Brinley. As I struggled to come to terms with the trauma of being a preemie mom and the PTSD that lingered from our time in the hospital, I knew I was meant to do something to give back to the NICU community. 

So with Brinley as my inspiration, I began the slow process of mastering photography with the goal of volunteering to take free professional pictures for NICU families. It was through this journey of learning that I established my own business. I specialized in family, newborn and NICU photography for several years and I loved every minute of it!

With the birth of my second daughter, Eloise, I decided to cut back and focus on my main passion, NICU photography. I can't wait to meet your family and hear about your NICU journey!
