So you're thinking about booking a session or you've already reserved your date with a Rochester NY family photographer. But you're nervous about how your session will run. How will the kids act? Expect to have fun and be silly!
When young kids are involved, they run the show! No one wants to pose for pictures with a screaming child or grumpy teenager. During a family session with me, you can expect to play games, sing songs, make funny faces, and to run around. This allows me to photograph real movement and raw emotional moments. Your family's unique personality will be captured. These are the images you will look back on and cherish.
Mom: Expect to relax and let go!
I've got this! We don't need bribery or threats to corral the children, no matter their age. Kids don't want to be in the picture? No problem, I've got tricks for that! No one is smiling at the camera? Family connection is between the members of your family, not the camera. Allow me to capture that connection rather than fake smiles. As mothers we are used to being the photographer. Placing that job into someone else's hands can be hard. Let me spoil you and give you a night off!
We will work traditional poses into your session
Once everyone is placed in a pose, I might ask you to interact with each other rather than the camera. By using prompts, such as "Tickle Fight!", I can capture family interactions and real laughter. Once the tickling has wound down, I'll hurry and say "Ok, now everyone look at me and smile!". Instead of stiff awkward smiles, I get genuine smiles.
